About Gnorasaurus

Gnorasaurus is a great place to find the perfect unique, handmade, one-of-a-kind gift for adults, babies, and kids. All the onesies, tees, bags, and vintage fabric friends you see here are made by me, by myself. I've been making things ever since I was little. My mom and my grandmother have been lifelong inspirations: they taught me sewing, color theory, embroidery, how to see, and so much more that I draw upon daily. My college degree in photography led to a 15-year process of trying many other artistic and non-artistic things before I realized that what I really wanted to do was what I had been doing all of my life. I spend a ridiculous amount of time flipping through women's magazines i from the 50's and 60's, old cookbooks, and random ephemera. I am happiest when I am sewing, and feel very lucky to be in a place where I can make that happen. In my spare time, I like to finish orphaned craft projects I find at tag sales and thrift shops, and give them to unsuspecting friends. I love custom orders, too. Got an idea? Give it to me. My centrally-located New Paltz studio is open weekdays and occasional weekends by appointment. Many one-of-a-kind items not featured on this website are also available. Contact me to arrange a visit, or with any requests.
